Nature Unmasked at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery

5 April - 21 April

Free activities running every day between Saturday 5th April – Monday 21st April, 10.30am – 3.30pm.

Discover a new favourite place to get crafty and creative this Easter, with Nature Unmasked at Cornwall Museum and Art Gallery.

Inspired by the dressing up cabinet in the Nature Gallery, this free activity will have visitors of all ages reaching for the feathers, crepe paper, and crafting glue. Create your own mask to take home - all materials are provided and there's no need to reserve a time slot. Simply book a day ticket to the museum (adults £10, under 18s free) and make your way to the Nature Gallery when you're ready to get crafting!

Immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings of the new-look gallery created in collaboration with Cornwall Wildlife Trust, as birds wheel overhead and the sights and sounds of Cornish nature surround you.

These Easter activities are a playful way to engage younger museumgoers with conservation success stories and the value of Cornwall’s unique natural environment.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Create your own animal mask to take home, with a selection of creatures to choose from. Can you find your animal elsewhere in the Nature Gallery? When you’re finished, be sure to jump into the empty display cabinet with your mask and have your picture taken…

  • Dress up in our beautiful bespoke headdresses and capes. Work your way through the ultimate nature-inspired dressing up cabinet!

  • Take part in our drawing competition. Find your favourite creature in the gallery and get sketching to be in with a chance of winning one of two epic prize packs for young nature-lovers, including goodies from our friends at Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

  • Daily object handling sessions. Our team will be showing some of the hidden treasures of our natural history collection in the gallery each day. Discover the stories behind the objects, and get closer to nature with mini-handling sessions.

All materials are provided and there’s no need to reserve a time slot. Simply book a day ticket to the museum (adults £10, under 18s free) and make your way to the Nature Gallery when you’re ready to go wild!
