The Working Boat - Dragon Boat Race 2025

26 July

This prestigious national sailing race returns to Falmouth again this summer.

At this free event, you can expect to enjoy a thrilling day of Dragon Boat racing, with teams competing throughout the day to take home the winning title.

Dragon boat racing is an exhilarating sporting event where teams compete in canoe-like vessels fitted with hand carved dragon’s heads and tails. With up to 17 people per boat paddling to compete in races at nearly 250m distances, spectators can expect to view an incredibly exciting and adrenaline pumping race from our quay. Lap up the excitement from the shoreline or revel in victory on the water. Spectator, winner or loser, there’ll be lots on offer.

Throughout the weekend, The Working Boat served delicious dirty fries piled high with toppings like crispy squid, hickory pulled pork, and truffle parmesan. Participants and rowers alike lined there stomach with these flavourful fries before diving into the action, washing it all down with our refreshing selection of Cornish brews from the bar.

We’re also proud to share that we partnered with Man Down for this exciting event and 10% of all proceeds generated from food and drink sales during the day were donated to this amazing organisation.

If you are looking to compete in the 2025 race, you can register your team’s interest and find out more info, by emailing here: chrisdodimead@dragonboatevents.com and download the team manual here.

If you’d like to join us for food booking is recommended.
