Charity Film on the Ferry: Life of Pi

20 September

The King Harry Ferry is transformed into a floating cinema and brings you Life of Pi (PG), raising funds for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

  Friday 20th September 2024

Boarding at the Philleigh slipway from 7.30pm (cars can park on the hill) before returning to the Feock slipway for boarding at 7.45pm.

Presented by The King Harry Ferry and Skylight Cinema, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to immerse yourself in a classic film on a truly unique stage - a ferry on the river.  Proceeds from this charity screening will be donated to the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

Relax and enjoy the event with light refreshments on board from our friends at The Thirstea Company as we float the ferry out to the middle of the river for the film to begin.

Life of Pi (PG)

Life of Pi is based on the novel by Yann Martel and revolves around the survivors of a shipwreck.

After the tragic sinking of a cargo ship, a solitary lifeboat remains in the Pacific Ocean. The crew includes a hyena, a zebra with a broken leg, a female orangutan, a huge Royal Bengal tiger, and a 16-year-old Indian boy named Pi.

The story unfolds as Pi, now older, relates it to a writer who has been told that Pi would make a good subject for a book.

Ang Lee directed and produced the film, which was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards and eleven Academy Awards.

Please note that Life of Pi is an approximately two-hour PG-rated film.
