Falmouth Sailing Week is a major sailing event in the South West providing high level competitive racing in a fun environment, using a variety of courses throughout  the week.  Dating back to a local sailing regatta in 1837 and hosted by the Port of Falmouth Sailing Association (PoFSA), races are followed by tea, prizes and entertainment from the various host clubs every day.

The host clubs for 2023 are:

  • Sunday – Helford River SC & Royal Cornwall YC (Carrick Fleet)

  • Monday – Mylor YC

  • Tuesday – Restronguet SC

  • Wednesday – Royal Cornwall YC

  • Thursday – Royal Cornwall YC

  • Friday – St Mawes SC

  • Saturday – Flushing SC.

  • Sunday - Regatta Tea and Prize-Giving for the Carrick Fleet at RCYC.

Featuring up to seven days of fleet racing for yachts and dayboats in the expansive waters of Falmouth Bay and the Carrick Roads, you can expect up to fifty yachts in the Bay and up to one hundred dayboats and dinghies in the Carrick Roads.

The Bay Fleet races in 15 square mikes of open water outside the harbour and comprises Firebird catamaran, IRC and YTC yachts.

The Carrick Fleet races in the lower estuary, 2 miles long and a mile wide, and if the weather is right, will venture outside of the harbour mouth beyond Black Rock.

The Ancasta Champagne Race is a long coastal race, held on Wednesday, for offshore yachts.  The course area includes the whole Bay and extends up the coast to Gull Rock and beyond, usually finishing to the west side of Pendennis headland.

Catch the races from a number of viewing points along the banks of the Fal River including coastal paths around the estuary.

For the Carrick Roads, the first race is due to start at 12:05 every day except Wednesday when it is 11:05.

For the Bay, the first race of the day will be after 11:00.
