Falmouth's young theatre group takes to the yellow brick road

Tickets are on sale for Starlite Theatre Company's latest performance, The Wizard of Oz, which will take to the stage at The Poly on Wednesday 30th & Thursday 31st August and Friday 1st September.

Over three nights, 28 of the brightest young acting and singing talents from Falmouth and the surrounding area will bring to life the much-loved story of Dorothy and her friends. Theatregoers will join them as they travel to the Emerald City, encountering obstacles and overcoming the menacing Wicked Witch of the West along the way.

The Wizard of Oz comes hot on the heels of That’s Entertainment which the youth theatre group performed in the spring. It will be Starlite's fourth show since it was founded in 2019 by Helen Richards, Demelza Kitts and Marina Walls, bringing together decades of performing arts experience between them. Starring seven- to 18-year-olds, the group is renowned for nurturing the next generation and providing opportunities to develop new skills and gain confidence.

Founding member and director of the show, Helen comments: "Our young people have been working incredibly hard and have created a show that will light up The Poly. I can't wait to see them take to the stage. 

"Those lucky enough to be in the audience can expect an unforgettable adventure along the yellow brick road with a generous sprinkle of Starlite magic.
