The carving of St Piran LIVE

Come and see the Sculptors David Paton and Stéphane Rouget carve a huge sculpture of Saint Piran in local Cornish granite com- missioned by La Vallée des Saints.
La Vallée des Saints is a large scale sculpture park, and since 2008 they have been siting huge granite saints in theBretonlandscape. Fortheir tenth anniversary David and Stéphane will be making the 100th saint - a celebration of the connections between the Cornwall and Brittany.
The carving of Saint Piran will start during the Open Studio week and will continue during 2017 at Trenoweth Quarry (Mabe Burnthouse, Penryn)
The Giants' Crossing In 2018 the 3.5 metre gure will be placed on a sailing vessel, moored in Falmouth Harbour, and transported to Brittany and sited on a block of Breton granite.
