Top Bridal Trends for 2018
9 October 2017
We spent the morning catching up with The Bridal House to find out what the upcoming trends are for 2018 in bridal and to peruse their gorgeous new gowns. We may or may not have held said gowns against us, swishing around in circles and imagining getting married again (sorry but with a collection this divine we may be marrying multiple times between now and next summer!). Read on to hear all about the glitz, the glam and the gorgeous.
Trend One: Two-Piece
The trend for the two-piece continues. In fact, we were so taken with it we used a stunning two-piece number for our Knot photo shoot for 2018. We love the combination of a sexy beaded crop top paired with a flowing skirt and it doesn’t come any better than the Michelle top and Delia silk chiffon skirt, both by Catherine Deane. Screaming style and sophistication yet beautifully different, we say dare to bare in this beaded beauty with the romance and effortless grace of that skirt.
Trend Two: Beaded
Beaded gowns are back in a big way. Think 1920s flapper or 1930s silver screen goddess, the more glitz and glamour the better. Look no further than the latest collection by Jenny Packham which has just arrived at The Bridal House. Beautiful beading, sparkle and shimmer galore, it doesn’t come more bling or beautiful than this new collection. Two of our favourites (because we simply couldn’t choose just the one) include vintage glam inspired Dixie with its explosion of sparkle and Hermia which is more gilded Grecian goddess with its stunning champagne hue and gold beading.
Trend Three: Classic
Hardly a trend really, classic is here to stay. Think simple, elegant, graceful and understated. Our favourite has to be Rosalind by Naomi Neoh. Simple and stylish with a flattering and shape enhancing bodice and a beautiful floral belt, this gown will be remembered for all of the right reasons.
Trend Four: Illusion Tops
Illusion tops are big news for 2018, offering an alternative look for the big day. Giving the appearance of naked skin with a beautiful lace detail overlay, our favourite is the stunning Misty by Lusan Mandongus. With an exquisite lace design, an incredible shape and a beautiful illusion top, it’s pure class.
Trend Five: Backless
One trend that we’re not turning our backs on is this one. The trend for backless dresses is still going strong and the latest gowns have got real game when it comes to upping the glamour stakes. So many stunning dresses, so many incredible backs including keyhole designs, cut outs and beautiful unique back designs, but our favourite had to be Claire Pettibone’s Marina, a beautiful lace number overlaying a blush gown which has the most mesmerising plunge back we’ve ever seen.
So there you have it, the top bridal trends for 2018 and our favourites from The Bridal House collection. Whether you’re looking for floaty and feminine, on trend and totally unique or gorgeous and glamorous, look no further than the beautiful boutique on the corner, the Georgian mansion house of glam.
