Two Cornish hotels team up to create a series of summer tasting events

The Alverton Hotel in Truro and The Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth have teamed up to offer a series of summer events that celebrate the best of Cornish food and drink.
The sister hotels combine city and coast and these influences have shaped the menu by showcasing speciality dishes from each hotel. The menu features only Cornish food and drink from the very best local suppliers, including Camel Valley Vineyard, Matthews Stevens, Duchy Game, Curds & Croust, Stevenson Newlyn, L George Butchers and Tregothnan tea.
‘As we gear up for the main summer season and we welcome holidaymakers to Cornwall, it’s important that we take the time to showcase the best food and drink from our special county.
‘It’s an exciting opportunity for our chefs to show off their skills and meet the guests they cook for. Canapes will be served on our terrace, where you can watch the chefs prepare and cook the food in front of you - that’s how fresh it is, before moving inside to the restaurant for the remaining courses’ says Nick Hodges, Executive Chef for the two hotels.
The first event takes place on Thursday 26th July at The Greenbank and is held at The Alverton two weeks later on Thursday 9th August. The next event is on Thursday 23rd August at The Greenbank and again at The Alverton on Thursday 6th September. Each event starts at 7pm for canapes and welcome drinks and costs £55 per person. There is very limited availability so early booking is advisable.
