Review: Upperdeck
31 March 2017
This month we were first in line to try Falmouth’s newest dining experience UpperDeck, and what a treat it was. Fal River reveals all…
First Impressions...
Upperdeck’s brand new look has a modern, spacious and fresh feel. The white high beamed ceilings and huge windows with views out over the marina, make for a relaxing space that is light-filled and airy. Our table for two overlooking the marina was the perfect spot to watch the world go by. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and their new menu has so much choice!
What we ordered...
UpperDeck’s new menu has great variety, from sumptuous looking steaks to fresh locally caught seafood and handmade pizzas, not to mention a mouthwatering selection of vegetarian options. We were torn, but ended up going for the Smoked Salmon with crusty (& delicious) Baker Tom’s Bread & Halloumi Kebab starters – both very flavoursome. For the main we went for the Sirloin Steak with Mozzarella Onion Rings, and a Teriyaki Salmon Fillet and Noodles- both meals were cooked to perfection. We then topped the meal off 2 creamy latte’s.
What we were drinking...
There is a very nice selection of wines to choose from as well as local draft beers, we went for a crisp and light Pinot Grigio.
Best bits...
- Stunning views overlooking the river
- The Marina location- you can literally moor up and enjoy an afternoon of food and drink.
- Refreshing new look, with lovely atmosphere
- Their something for everyone menu, and generous portions
- The friendly service
Need to know tip...
If you visit on a Monday, you can enjoy a 12” pizza and a pint for just £12, magnifico value! They also do a delicious two (yes two) course roast for just £13 on Sundays!
